We approach and handle every dog with special care, patience and love. We do not use cages/kennels unless provided and insisted by the owner of the dog. Instead, we provide every dog with a wall hitch for their leash while they wait to be groomed and/or wait to be picked up. This gives them access to their own area without interaction with other dogs or feeling confined.

Frequently asked questions
How much will it cost to have my dog groomed?
The cost to groom each dog will vary depending on size, coat condition, temperament, and desired cut. Our deluxe grooming prices start at $60 and go up from there.
How long will it take for my dog to be groomed?
The total grooming time will vary my each dog depending on size and clip. Small dogs usually take around 2 hours, and larger dogs 3+ hours.
How often should I bring my dog to be groomed?
We recommend bringing your dog every 6-8 weeks for a full groom. This will vary depending on how much you will maintain the coat with brushing and combing between grooms. Some customers prefer not to do any brushing between, and bring their dogs monthly for a groom.
How old should my puppy be for their first groom?
We believe that it is never too early to start familiarizing your puppy with the grooming process (once they have had their puppy vaccines). We recommend starting small, with nail and face trimming, and working up to the full groom.
What is included in the deluxe groom?
Our deluxe groom would include nail trimming, bath and blow dry, dematting and furminating, ear plucking and cleaning, and all over desired clip.
Do you just clip nails?
Yes. It costs $22 for just a nail trim, or $18 added on to a ubathe.
How often should I have my dog's nail cut?
we suggest cutting your dogs' nails every 4 weeks.
Can I drop my dog off in the morning and pick him/her up at the end of the day?
Since we only offer cage free grooming services, we book dogs in one on one with a groomer and/or bather. We would ask that you drop your dog of no more than 30mins before their appointment, and pick them up no more than 30mins after they are finished.
Can I stay with my dog while they are being groomed?
Due to liability reasons we can not have any non employees in the grooming room when other dogs are present, however, our grooming space is very open and 100% viewable from inside the shop. However, we prefer (and recommend) that you stay out of sight and hearing distance for your dog. Dogs behave much better for the grooming process when their mom and dad are not easily seen or accessible. For service dogs, and other special circumstances, please discuss with us other arrangements on staying with your pup while they are being groomed.
The last groomer shaved my dog completed. How can I make sure your won't shave my dog?
Although we never want to shave someone's dog shorter than their expectations, there are certain circumstances where it is entirely necessary. If a dog is too matted, the only option is to clip under those matts. We have a very strict dematting policy at The Dog Shop, and always have the dog's best interest in mind. Dematting can be very painful for a dog, and leave irritated and 'burned' skin. We will only do what each dog can handle in a comfortable, unstressful manner.

To express in words how amazing The Dog Shop is is going to be hard. I’ve been a client there since it first opened, one of the first few people to trust them. I’ve never left or gone elsewhere in the past 10 plus years. I trust them with every one of my dogs. I’ve had fearful dogs that they’ve worked extremely hard to make happy and comfortable there. They don’t push the dogs ever, if they are uncomfortable being groomed they stop and play with them. There are no kennels, the dogs are handled specially each and every time they go there. They have excellent supplements, treats and food on site, always choosing the best for our pets. Their staff is always happy and helpful and the dogs love them all! A true sign of an excellent grooming shop is when your dogs are happier going than leaving!
